    Don't be shy!

Elizabeth came to the studio feeling shy, but within minutes was at ease and creating lovely pictures. Often people say they don't like having their photo taken, but the environment is friendly and relaxing and really its good fun. There is nothing to be scared of, I promise, its much more fun than going to the dentist - not that I have anything against dentists, but it usually hurts! Check out more portraits in my gallery.

    Long Distance Love

Groom Jay travelled over 3500 miles to say I do to bride Kimberley after being kept apart in the run up to the wedding due to work commitments on the other side of the world.  But they made up for lost time with a very special day and incorporated Christmas into the whole event too. They chose two beautiful locations to celebrate at, the first being Bolsover Castle and the second Whitley Hall. Thanks again for being game for everything too!

An ideal rendezvous for a wedding!

Falconry was on display for guests to enjoy at this Bolsover Castle wedding in Derbyshire! Katie and Charles laughed and smiled all day long with their guests at the beautiful English Heritage location.  With family from both the north and south it made perfect sense to meet in the middle just off the M1 and enjoy the wonderful wedding venues we have on offer to every bride and groom in the country, not just the locals. Do check out my wedding portfolio.

    Umbrellas at Cusworth Hall

A very rainy day for Sara and Patrick was in store at Cusworth Hall, near Doncaster South Yorkshire. It was the wettest wedding I have ever covered, but Sara was an amazing bride and didn't let the rain bother her on her big day. She even helped move furniture around to enable us to get some unusual, creative and quirky images to remember their special day by. A very welcoming couple and with a really intimate and meaningful service you would never have known it was pouring down outside. Fabulous! Do get in touch about your wedding plans.

Prince and Princess of the Peaks!

Katie and Mark pulled off a great day for us to get into the peak district for photographs following their ceremony at St John's the Baptist Church in Dronfield. We had talked together about getting some real peak district scenery shots and with Katie and Mark game for adventure we created some amazing images which will look fabulous displayed as art works on their walls.  Following their adventure in the peaks Katie and Mark moved on for a reception at The Maynard in Grindleford, Derbyshire. Do take a look at more of my work in the wedding portfolio.

Classical Wedding Photographer of the Year!

The second award I was thrilled to recently win was Classical Photographer of the Year at the Master Photographers Association East Midlands awards. I blend classical wedding photography with both contemporary and reportage styles of wedding photography to give you stunning coverage of your special day. It is a really timeless intimate image from the first dance that captured the judge's eyes. The standard of entries in the competition this year were higher than ever. I was so ecstatic to walk away with the wedding awards.  See all the awards I have attained on my awards page and check out more winning images on my facebook page.

Winner Complete Wedding Photographer of the Year 2011!

I'm over joyed to have retained my Complete Wedding Photographer of the Year award in the East Midlands Master Photographers Association competition. It is the hardest of the wedding categories. The judge scrutinises 10 images taken at one wedding looking for consistent excellence in standard and style from across the whole wedding day. this really means so much to be to take home the trophy yet again for such a prestigious title and reinforce I am creating great photographs for my bride and grooms. The Master Photographers Association is the UK's only trade body exclusively for full-time professional photographers. I also won other awards so watch this space!

    Alrewas Hayes Wedding

Claire and Paul chose the very elegant setting of Alrewas Hayes near Burton upton Trent, Derbyhsire for their special day.  The wedding carried through the theme of elegance and no detail had been left to chance by the happy couple. The rain clouds just stayed away just long enough for the beautiful surroundings to be enjoyed by all. To see more of my wedding portfolio click here.

An American at an English University

American bride Amanda never thought she would have sunshine on her English wedding day, but boy did she have sunshine! On a stunning and hot summers day Amanda and Anthony tied the knot at Our Lady's and St Thomas Catholic church in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Moving on to celebrate with a reception at the iconic University of Nottingham Trent Building. The brides sister Rosemary made all the beautiful flower arrangements and bouquets which adorned the church.
